Wow, we’ve had a lot of rain lately! Wouldn’t it be great if we could put some of this water to use? Rain barrels are a great way to do just that.
The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is conducting a rain barrel workshop on February 12 at Dunwoody City Hall. For a fee of $10 you will receive a rain barrel, installation kit and a viewing of “Tapped Out,” a presentation about Atlanta’s water needs and solutions.
The Chesnut Changers were lucky enough to view this presentation at school last year, and the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper even provided the school with all the materials we needed to install our own water barrels in our garden.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at Dunwoody City Hall, 41 Perimeter Center East, Dunwoody, GA 30346. Pre-registration is required. Visit http://www.ucriverkeeper.org for more information.
